Lemon verbena - botanically Aloysia citriodora - is a small woody shrub that has intensely fragrant leaves - these leaves can be used in many different ways - a cup of tea - a simple syrup - Grown in a pot, this fragrant beauty will maintain a tidy size. In the ground, it forms a luxuriously lemony shrub. some years ago I had dinner where a lemon verbena cream pie was served. It was delicious. These are NOT WINTER HARDY in the Russellville area so it should be brought inside in the winter.

A robust Rosemary that grows into a clump about 18" tall. Hardy to 15 degrees - which is normally ok for our area. Should we have another freeze like we had this year. I would cover it if planted in the ground - otherwise bring it inside. Good drainage is important for Rosemary plants.

It is a cut-and-come-again, so harvest just what you need each time letting the plant regrow its foliage many times during the season. Keep any flower buds pinched off, especially from the central stem, to prolong the season of cilantro, for the leaves will lose flavor after the flowers arise. (However, at the end of the season you will want to harvest coriander seeds, so to eventually let the plant set flowers and seeds.)

This upright plant grows its straight leaves pointing up, lending a different texture to your houseplant display. Our snake plants have a green marbled leaf with (lighter green-grey) mottling/streaking against the dark green leaf backdrop. Lauris nobilis - Mediterranean Bay tree. These are only marginally hardy here outside but you can keep it in a pot for years, just increasing the size of the pot yearly. Fresh bay leaves are so much better than what you buy at the store in bottles. If you have a sheltered place at your home, you could try growing it outside & protecting it when the temperatures drop too much. Evergreen
