Creamy Basil Pesto
This simple recipe combines fresh herbs (like basil from the market) and great tasting ingredients to add some flavor to any dish.
Ingredients
- 4 garlic cloves coarsely chopped
- 1 cup reduced-fat sour cream
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped toasted pine nuts
- To Taste Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- 1Combine the garlic and sour cream in the bowl of a food processor, and pulse until the garlic is finely chopped.
- 2Add the basil, parsley, crushed red pepper, cheese, and pine nuts. Puree until the sauce is smooth.
- 3Season with salt and pepper to taste.
