Brrrr…. Don’t go out in the cold; shop online from RCM and get amazing fresh groceries and unique products from our local friends and neighbors! It’s looking like a chilly week but we will be at the Depot on Tuesday ready to serve you! We are happy to have Pleasant View and JPB Feathery Friends back online this week! Pleasant View makes some tasty baked goods like her artisan bread and JPB Feathery Friends is offering duck and goose eggs. There are lots of lovely fresh chicken eggs available, as well, from Bluff Top, Drewry and Ford Farms! As usual, there’s no shortage of baked goods either…. Sample a variety of sourdough breads or get some sweet treats! Victoria’s Little Bread House has a new sourdough chocolate sweet roll and a sourdough baguette this week that look tasty! Stock your freezer for the yukky weather with great cuts of meat for hot meals and hearty dishes! Make delicious meals even better with fresh mushrooms from The Fortunate Mushroom! It’s a tricky week for vegetables… But Michael’s Garden will bring anything that survives the weather as extras on Tuesday! Check out B&B Legacy’s website for great and proven recipes using her dry soybeans. They are an affordable source of protein without cholesterol! Give her soybeans a try in some of your favorite recipes! Remember, we accept SNAP/EBT!

It’s another amazing week at RCM! Shop before 10 PM tonight to get great groceries for your family! Try sourdough bread or pretzels from our newest baker, Maple Brook Bakery, or plan meals around your favorites from Cecelia and Otis or Victoria’s Little Bread House! Cecelia’s Lemon Drop cookies are sure to banish the winter blues and Victoria’s sandwich bread will make delicious sandwiches to feed a crowd! Apricot hand pies from Pine Ridge Gardens are a tasty treat and Connor’s Garden and Sweets’ oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are a nice variation on classic chocolate chip! Isn’t She Sweet is baking this week; her strawberry bread and cinnamon rolls are delicious! Check out the beautiful handmade shawl from Hoof Hollow Hobbies or woven table runners from Houston Family Farm and Fiber in the Fiber Arts category. Kaitlyn’s Sweets and Treats can custom bake and decorate a cake for birthdays or special occasions and Kourtney’s Country Canning and More has delicious wild muscadine jelly. Remember to take advantage of The Fortunate Mushroom’s fresh mushrooms when they are available or try one of the many grow kits to grow your own! Fresh turnips from Hoof Hollow Hobbies are a nutritious choice and winter squash from Drewry are great for making delicious warm dishes! Besides Drewry’s fresh apples, Pine Ridge Gardens has fresh kumquats, too! There are plenty of fresh eggs available and lots of cuts of amazing meats. Bluff Top has sliced pork belly, C3 Beef has a great family pack and did you know R&D has beef breakfast sausage and chorizo? Porch Swing Farms has lovely pork chops and a selection of gourmet sausage that is delicious! If you are looking to try a different flavor, Wild Hare Nursery added pumpkin butter and apple-pear butter this week; and their handmade pasta is beautifully crafted! We have so many local foods to enjoy! Support our local growers and makers and taste the difference!

Keep your resolutions with fresh local foods from RCM! Turnips are nutritious and plentiful this week; check out Hoof Hollow Hobbies’ selection for a great deal! It’s a dreary day outside but you can stay cozy while you shop RCM for next week’s fantastic meals! B&B soybeans are an affordable and easy to use source of healthy protein to add to all kinds of recipes. Feeling like soup in this weather? The Fortunate Mushroom’s fresh mushrooms are sure to add amazing flavor to soups and the meat category is full of yummy cuts for soup, stew, chili or crockpots! Porch Swing Farms’ Itallian sausage sounds like a tasty choice for a warm meal! R&D has some great beef roasts and stew meat, Bluff Top and Porch Swing Farms have pork roasts and Michael’s Garden has some big chunky pieces of beef short ribs for your crockpot! Hoof Hollow Hobbies added a beautiful crocheted shawl to the fiber arts category this week; make sure to check it out! Don’t forget fresh apples from Drewry and winter squash for warm and vitamin-rich dishes! Welcome Maple Brook Bakery to the RCM family this week! We are very lucky to have so many talented local bakers available to make delicious foods for our market! Remember to order some great foods for this week’s menu before you ring in the new year! It has been a wonderful year of sharing local foods and products with our community and we are excited to see how we can continue to grow in 2024! It is so rewarding to be the link in connecting local producers with consumers and seeing people marvel at and enjoy the difference in eating local! What will be on your menu this week? Try handmade pasta from The Wild Hare, artisan sourdough from Victoria’s Little Bread House or Cecelia and Otis, or Farmstand cornbread from Lucky Star. We love having fresh fruit available for our customers! Enjoy some apples from Drewry or start your year off with healthy recipes using their winter squash box as inspiration! There are plenty of fresh eggs from several growers plus ginger root and endive from Pine Ridge Gardens, turnip greens from Hoof Hollow Hobbies and a beautiful assortment of oyster mushrooms from The Fortunate Mushroom to savor! Thank you to all our RCM customers, both old and new, for supporting the market in 2023! We hope to continue providing amazing goods and groceries for our community in 2024 and spread the news about buying local to more new customers! Get a head-start on healthy resolutions with some tasty local foods! The Fortunate Mushroom has fresh mushrooms this week! They are great for making healthy dishes and delicious, too! It’s great weather for soup and chili; get great ingredients like local ground beef, Chorizo and more from C3 Beef, R&D or Bluff Top! Porch Swing Farms gave us a taste of their Cheddarbacks sausage at the holiday open house and it was amazing! They also have a spicy Italian sausage that is sure to be delicious, too! Pine Ridge Gardens has some peppers and kumquats from her greenhouse to banish your winter blues with a fresh taste! Get your apple a day from Drewry and get a great deal with their winter squash box sale! Some sourdough from Cecilia and Otis or Focaccia from Victoria’s Little Bread House goes great with soups and other warm dishes. Satisfy your sweet tooth with sweet baked goods from Kourtney, Kaitlyn or Connor and avoid preservatives and high fructose corn syrup with homemade jams and jellies! Let RCM help you have a happy holiday with foods and gifts for all your needs! This is the last market before Christmas, and the last market for 2023! RCM will re-open December 29th for the first 2024 market on January 2nd! Need cookies for Santa or just a bunch of hungry elves? Our baked goods category is sure to have your favorite flavor! Charcuterie for a party? Pine Ridge gardens has herb crackers, Meadowlark has cheese, Cecelia has amazing crusty sourdough and check out our selection of pepper jellies or other condiments . Drewry has raspberry jalapeno pepper jelly, The Thomas Family has green pepper jelly, Michael’s garden has Habanero Gold and Plum Ginger pepper jelly and Lucky Star has a cranberry relish! This is the last week for a while that Ralston rice will be available… they are taking a break until the next quarter, so stock up on your favorite flavors! RCM has tons of great gift baskets plus handcrafted items like Meadowlark’s handmade pens, Houston Family Farm and Fiber’s woven table runners, or ,Drewry and Meadowlark’s candles and hand creams. You can definitely stuff your stockings here! RCM is feeling very blessed this week after seeing everyone who came to our Merry Market last Tuesday! Thank you for supporting our amazing local vendors! I bet Porch Swing Farms sausage would make some amazing sausage balls for a party! McAnulty Mercantile is offering a special holiday platter of sweet treats that she will deliver fresh just for you! Make sure you shop all the great candies available. Keep your kitchen mess free and enjoy those special holiday sweets! Last week was definitely a Christmas whirlwind, but we had a great time seeing our wonderful customers and vendors at the same time! We hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did! Maybe you found a new favorite food, learned about the people who are producing it or found some Christmas inspiration! RCM is full of great gifts for teachers, coaches, friends, co-workers and more! Give local products and introduce even more people to the amazing things to be had right here at home! If you haven’t tried them yet, The Fortunate Mushroom has lots of delicious-looking mushrooms ready to harvest. If you were interested in sampling all of the different kinds of Ralston Family Farms rice, check out their variety pack. Shop Wild Hare’s homemade pasta for gluten-free options and some tasty meals! Our bakers keep creating new goods to tempt us; there are too many tasty things to list! Look for your favorites or try something new! We have plenty of fresh eggs for making holiday goodies and amazing beef, pork and chicken for family meals.
